"Perfect four days of R and R. Peace, quiet and great walks. Great meals available - wish we'd bought them all here. Should have been longer."   November 2017

"This was our second stay and it was just as wonderful as the first. The cottage is well equipped, beautifully decorated and in a perfect location. This time we explored by bike and enjoyed the autumnal colours. We loved watching the squirrels an we had a visit from the badger. Overall an idyllic, relaxing stay. We will be back! Thank you Judith and team."   October 2017

"Had walked past the cottage last year while staying in Aviemore. Booked in to returning for partners birthday. Absolutely fabulous spot - car parked Friday on arrival an not moved until leaving on Monday. Fantastic walks including the wee hills today. Cottage perfect for special away from it all."   October 2017

"We have had a fantastic week and have decided just to stay forever! This holiday has been amazing! The cottage is beautiful and the location is perfect. We were lucky enough to have sun and temperatures of 26 degrees... in Scotland... in May! The BBQ was a great idea. We have spent lots of time outside but have loved spending time in the luxury of the cottage. So, as I said, we are just going to stay... only joking! Thanks for all :)"   May 2017

"What a wonderful cottage in an exceptional location. Every need met. Judith and her team are to be congratulated on knowing just what to provide. Have stayed in this area for 25 years and this is just the greatest. Thank you."   May 2017

"A beautiful cottage in an amazing setting. The cottage was well kitted out from a hamper of goodies to fresh flowers and every utensil that you can think of! We spent 3 days mountain biking on some great tracks. We hired bikes from Mikes Bikes. We also enjoyed watching all the birds and animals that came to visit. We'll be back!"   May 2017

"The perfect setting for a relaxing holiday. All the details were thought about and we can't wait to come back! Expecially after we got engaged here, forever in our memories now!"   April 2017

"Such a beautiful place. The weather was amazing all weekend making this the perfect trip. The cottage is gorgeous with everything you need, some fantastic walks and great scenery."  April 2017

"What a lovely cottage. Walked around this loch for the past 30 years on our twice yearly trips up here. Glad at long last you can stay. The cottage is so comfortable, cosy and the views are fantastic, it's hard to go elsewhere for walks and sightseeing as there is so much to do from the front door. Rothiemurchus deli, cafe and shop is excellent, the ready made meals are excellent. Five squirrels were frequently chasing each other around the garden and trees. A badger visited every night, three deer, woodpecker and lots of other birds. So peaceful and relaxing."   April 2017

"Wonderful cottage in our favourite place. The warmest of welcomes with milk, hamper and everything we could need. If you're awake and any of the security lights go on, it's a must to get up and look, red deer and a badger visited every night. Great biking, walks and runs and was very lucky to see a Golden Eagle too. Loved breakfasting with the squirrels and birds and will miss this place. Thank you Judith for making it amazing. A woodpecker came to the bird feeder on the last day, wild geese and a fighter jet overhead, swans on the loch too."   March 2017

"Our second visit and every bit as special as the first one - beautiful cottage, beautiful surroundings - just perfect! Loved the squirrels, badger and deer visiting the garden and best of all, lots of snow at the end of the week."   February 2017

"Thank you for a lovely stay! Stunning and very cute! The view is amazing and love the cheeky squirrels!"  January 2017

"The cottage and location were absolutely stunning. We spent our days out and about, walking and doing various activities and then spent the evenings in the warmth of the cottage with the fire going, so cosy! The attention to detail is wonderful, comfy bed, lovely towels and robes and a well-equipped kitchen. Judith also supplied a delightful hamper of treats which was well received! I would highly recommend the cottage."   January 2017

"We had a lovely time at the cottage and would happily recommend it to anyone. Judith really looked after us, even arranging for a snow plough so that we could have our massages as planned, despite very heavy snow. The cottage is in a beautiful spot and is stylishly done throughout. The bed is really very comfy indeed. Would recommend!"   January 2017

"The cottage was perfect. From the welcome hamper to the heated bathroom floor, the super comfy bed to the wonderful wood-burner - not to mention the stunning location - the place is finished to a very high standard but still feels cosy and homely. We had both blizzards and sunshine and we made Christmas dinner in the well-equipped kitchen with no problems. There is no phone signal at all in or around the cottage (ideal!) but there is a landline in case of problems. Though we didn't meet Judith she was really helpful over the phone and made sure we got in okay and had everything we needed. So many stunning walks right outside the door and nearby. I can't imagine anywhere more ideal for a Christmas honeymoon."   December 2016

"It is impossible to use enough superlatives to do the cottage justice, it is simply amazing. Not only is it beautifully decorated, and finished to the very highest of standards, but it sits in an astonishing setting, one that you cannot put a price on. Everyone passing expressed their envy to the wonderful location, it really is the ultimate in tranquility. As it is the only occupied cottage on the lake, and you have to go through a gate to reach it, you have your own lake, a bit different to my normal life! To top it all off you are 5 mins from Aviemore, with all the amenities you need for a perfect holiday. I proposed whilst we were there, there really is nowhere better to make yourself look like the perfect romantic!"   December 2016

"We are in love with the cottage! We don't want to go home... Not only is it beautiful inside and out, it is an absolute haven. Lots of fantastic touches which made our stay so luxurious. It has been amazing to be able to walk around Loch an Eilein from the front door - fair to say our wee dog Bailey has been well exercised. Thank you so much for allowing us to experience this little piece of heaven. We will definitely be back!"   November 2016

"What at amazing place! Cottage is perfectly luxurious - setting idyllic! Watched birds from the breakfast table and the antics of three red squirrels every morning. Walked every day in -4 - 13 degrees, watched loch thaw and enjoyed the fire!"   November 2016

"What an idyllic location and the cottage was everything we could have wished for and even better no mobile phone signal! Thank you for creating such a perfect hideaway."   November 2016

"Your cottage is astonishing! The setting and views are unbeatable and the facilities cannot be beaten. The property has everything you could wish for, Judith and her team have thought of everything. She told me it was the perfect place to propose and she was right. Thank you."   November 2016

"Thank you for our wonderful and relaxing weeks stay. It was everything and more - thank you also for the wonderful hamper and card. The 'silver' weather added magic to our silver anniversary! Murphy probably won't want to go home!!"  November 2016

"This has been the most perfect place to stay. No words can describe the view each morning and all the wildlife - breathtaking. Every detail in the cottage was thought out so well and we wanted for nothing. Thank you Judith and team for making our first trip to Scotland so memorable."   October 2016

"A wonderful experience. Both before the stay and during Judith was very helpful and ensured a smooth arrival. The cottage was beautifully decorated with everything we needed. We appreciated the card and local produce left in the welcome basket. The location is idyllic and although we had planned to visit the surrounding area we spent most of our time at the cottage and around Loch an Eilein. We would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and to experience tranquillity, wildlife and stunning views on your doorstep. The only negative is having to leave."  October 2016

"Balm for the soul"  October 2016

"An idyllic place to stay. Beautiful scenery, beautiful walks and a beautiful cottage to return to after enjoying the great outdoors. I hope it isn't booked up too far in advance as we can't wait to come back. Thank you for all the extra thoughtful and lovely touches too!"  October 2016

"The only downfall was the realisation that I had to leave! A magical place." September 2016

"Heaven on earth! You've thought of everything. Judith, thank you so much. Can't wait to come back for our 2 weeks in April."  September 2016

"Beautiful cottage, wonderful setting and 5 star hospitality. Thank you for making it dog friendly."  September 2016

"A delightful place to stay - with lots to see and do. Gorgeous red squirrels for entertainment... Spectacular views across the loch in some of the best weather we've ever had in the had in the Highlands. Thank you."  August 2016

"Fantastic two weeks getting away 'from it all' in this beautiful cottage in this amazing area of Scotland. Thank you Judith for always being so helpful. We have done so many beautiful walks, eaten in some fab places - absolutely recommend the cafe above the mountain shop in Aviemore - well worth waiting as very popular! Recommend visiting the RSPB Osprey Centre at Loch Garten - amazing. Have also loved feeding the squirrels in the garden. Thank you Judith for a holiday to remember."  August 2016

"We've had such a wonderful stay at the cottage. You have thought of everything to keep us in wonderful luxurious comfort all week. We love the decor and the decadence of the linen and towels. We enjoyed the hamper you so kindly left us - thank you! A marvelous host in Judith - thank you. We hope we'll be able to visit Loch an Eilein Cottage again."  July 2016

"Delightful experience! The perfect antidote for the hustle and bustle of modern life."  July 2016

“A beautiful cottage in an amazing location. Truly spectacular. Judith did everything she could to be helpful and the place was even better than described in the listing. All the furniture, kitchenware etc was top class. On arriving my wife said "can we stay here forever?!" That sums up the trip pretty well.”  July 2016

“We had a wonderful stay at Loch an Eilein Cottage. The location is absolutely fantastic!! The cottage is brand new, very comfortable and very nicely decorated. We didn't want to leave :-) Judith is an excellent host. She is very hospitable and helpful. We hope to return soon! ”  June 2016

"One word......exceptional. This is an amazing cottage and location. The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and with great consideration for detail, comfort and well being. It is warm and comfortable, yet bright and airy. The kitchen is very well designed with all that you need to snuggle down, with comfort food, or something fresh and healthy. the view from the dining area is lovely especially if your facing the window with a breathtaking view of the loch. The living room is hard to leave, as there is an excellent log burner as well as a good stock of wood in the room with you, saving a trip outside and the sofa, armchair and window seats are so inviting and comfortable, you will find it hard to get up and go anywhere.

If you do eventually get up, the bedroom is fantastic, again bright and airy with plenty of storage. The log burner in the living room has a glass back which is in the bedroom, so you can safely enjoy your fire even in bed. The bathroom is a wow too, with an nice air jet bath as well as a separate shower with large deluge water head and normal hose head. The bathroom is large fresh clean and made to a very high standard. I think the floor is heated too, but not too sure, but the floor was never cold. We never used the conservatory, but this is also a lovey part of the house. I guess it would be a great place for children to play, but it was just two of us staying. The area around the Loch is stunning, great for walkers, and just beautiful to look at. this house is on it's own with no other neighbors, so it is very quiet in the day and especially at night as well as very private. There are no public roads any where near this place. AMAZING!!!"  June 2016

“Wow, wow and wow! Location - amazing, views - magnificent, accommodation - first class! Make sure you take lots of food and drink when you stay at this cottage as you will never want to leave. The lochside location is superb, the cottage is the only inhabitable cottage at the loch and we felt extremely privileged to be able to stay there. The scenery constantly changes depending on the weather and even in the rain it is spectacular.

The cottage has been professionally designed and is absolutely gorgeous. It is a very comfortable space to live in and has everything you could possibly want, so even if the weather is not so good you will be very happy to stay in. A very, very special place where you will completely unwind and de-stress. We will be back!”  June 2016

“We felt so welcome in this beautiful beautiful cottage. Perfect location and host thought of everything to make us feel welcome. Can't wait to come back!”  June 2016

"The cottage is absolutely beautiful and so luxurious, there's been real attention paid to detail, it's stylish, comfortable & relaxing. It's extremely well-equipped with everything you could ever need. Lovely touches like a hamper filled with fabulous goodies including wine, beer, shortbread, chocolates & nibbles (even dog treats!) as well as milk, coffee, tea & numerous other things you would usually need to take to a self-catering cottage.

The lounge is so comfortable with a fabulous armchair, big sofa & lots of cushions. I loved the window seats in the lounge and kitchen, you could look at the beautiful views for hours. I didn't use the wood-burning stove as it was very warm weather but the fact that it's double-sided to the bedroom will be wonderful at chillier times.

The bed is the comfiest I've ever slept in and the pillows are amazing (so much so I want to buy the same ones for home!) & the bed linen is of the highest quality. The bathroom is beautiful with a brilliant shower and whirlpool bath not to mention gorgeous Highland Soap Company products. There's even a tv to watch whilst you're in the bath!

There's a great selection of books and magazines as well as information on the local area which is beautiful with an abundance of things to do. The immediate surroundings are simply stunning with lots of lovely walks around the loch and views to die for. Sitting on the bench at the front of the cottage overlooking the loch is beautiful and so peaceful.

All in all, it's one of those places you never want to leave. Thank you for a wonderful weekend, I would highly recommend anyone looking for a relaxing, luxurious break to come and stay at the cottage, it would be impossible not to love it."  May 2016
