An architect-designed conversion of a traditional stone cottage set amidst stunning scenery, Loch an Eilein cottage offers the very finest in luxury Highlands self-catering accommodation.
Its carefully chosen furnishings and fittings all blend beautifully together to create a soothing and peaceful atmosphere. In fact the calm and tranquil colours and natural fabrics of the interiors were specially chosen to reflect the views of the loch, castle and forest. The cottage was designed to be a haven of warmth and comfort, and one of its most unusual and charming features is its double-sided wood burning stove which fills both the living room and bedroom with its cheerful warm glow.
The open-plan living room and kitchen were cleverly planned and fitted to make it a relaxing haven whether cooking, eating - or simply sitting and looking out to the loch and its wildlife from a window seat. When it’s time to turn in, the sumptuous double bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower and luxurious underfloor heating. The bedroom also leads to a sit-out-erie which is a lovely place to unwind and read or chat. There is also a very useful drying room for those days when you have been exploring the national park.
The cottage is wonderfully secluded without being isolated - the popular lochside footpath is located nearby. The cottage is regularly visited by local deer, red squirrels and abundant birdlife, making it the perfect sanctuary for wildlife lovers. Although you will find it hard to leave Loch an Eilein Cottage, when you do you will find yourself on the doorstep of the Cairngorms National Park, with its dramatic, mountainous landscapes, charming towns and villages and its almost endless range of outdoor activities.
